Overview

Aquamarine is a mineral that has several practical uses once obtained. It can be donated for progression-related goals, used as a crafting material in tailoring, and spent at the Forge to improve a melee weapon’s critical hit chance. It is also one of the gems that may be requested in certain quests, making it worth keeping a few copies on hand instead of selling every one immediately.

In the Sewing Machine, Aquamarine is used in the spool to create a shirt. It can also be used as a blue dye in the dye pots at Emily and Haley’s house, allowing it to serve as a dye ingredient as well as a gem. For players who like to customize clothing and use the dye system regularly, holding onto at least one Aquamarine is useful.

Aquamarine also has a few progression and quest uses outside of crafting:

  • It is used in the Community Center bundle progression.
  • It is one of the options for another bundle.
  • It may be requested on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store for a reward of gold and 150 Friendship points. This request does not begin appearing until the player has reached floor 40 or deeper in the Mines.
  • Two Aquamarines may be requested in some Fish Pond quests to raise a pond’s capacity from 7 to 10.
  • It can be used in the Gem Birds puzzle on Ginger Island.

Because Aquamarine has multiple late-game and utility uses, it is generally best treated as a flexible resource rather than a simple sellable gemstone. The Forge benefit is especially notable for combat-focused players, since the gem can directly improve a melee weapon’s critical hit chance. Players who are working on tailoring, dyeing, fish ponds, or Ginger Island puzzles will also find it convenient to keep extra Aquamarines in storage.
