A sweet, nutritious beverage.

Overview

Juice is an artisan good made by placing a vegetable or foraged item inside a Keg, which takes about 4 days. Its sale price is based on the ingredient’s base value, multiplying that value by 2.25 normally, or 3.15 with the Artisan profession. The drink’s color also changes depending on the item used.

Juice restores energy and health based on the ingredient. For edible vegetables and foraged items, it restores energy equal to 2 × the ingredient’s base value. For inedible vegetables, it restores energy equal to the vegetable’s base value and health equal to 45% of that value. The following foraged items can be turned into Juice: Cave Carrot, Dandelion, Ginger, Hazelnut, Leek, Spring Onion, Snow Yam, Wild Horseradish, and Winter Root.

Not every crop that counts as a vegetable produces Juice. Wheat, Hops, and Tea Leaves are classified as vegetables, but when placed in a Keg they produce Beer, Pale Ale, and Green Tea instead. Juice also cannot be put in a Cask, so it cannot be aged like wine or other certain artisan goods.

Juice has several practical uses outside of selling. It can be used in the Sewing Machine spool to create the dyeable Sports Shirt. It also functions as a green dye in the dye pots at Emily’s and Haley’s house, 2 Willow Lane. In quests, Pam requests 12 Potato Juice for the special order “The Strong Stuff,” and the Raccoon at the Giant Stump can request one Juice as part of its fourth request, with later requests also able to include it.

A few special cases are worth noting:

  • Juice sold by the Traveling Cart is not made from a normal ingredient, and it restores 75 energy and 33 health.
  • Because Juice’s value is tied directly to the input item, higher-value vegetables and foraged items produce more profitable Juice.
  • Since it takes 4 days in a Keg, Juice is slower to produce than some other processed goods, but it can still be a strong way to use surplus vegetables and forage.
