Overview

The Dvergr extractor is a special item found in Dvergr component crates in inhabited Dvergr settlements in the Mistlands. These settlements can take the form of towers, ports, or camps, and the crates are typically placed inside the protected area of the settlement, where the Dvergr keep their equipment. The extractor itself cannot be crafted.

A Dvergr extractor is used as a crafting ingredient for the Sap Extractor, which requires 10 Yggdrasil Wood, 5 Black Metal, and 1 Dvergr extractor. Because of this, obtaining one is a key step in progressing through Mistlands resource gathering.

Be careful when taking one from a Dvergr settlement:

  • Destroying the crate directly will anger nearby Dvergr, often turning the settlement hostile.
  • Indirect damage does not trigger the same reaction. Ramming the crate with a cart can break it safely, and the same is true if you lure hostile creatures such as Seekers or Gjalls into the area so they destroy it for you.
  • The same indirect approach can also be used against the guardian stones protecting Dvergr settlements.
  • If you do choose to break the crate by force, expect the Dvergr to attack immediately.

Because Dvergr settlements are defended and their component crates are placed within their protected zones, the safest method is usually to let another source of damage do the work. This allows you to obtain the extractor without provoking the settlement, which is especially useful if you want to keep trading access or avoid fighting in the Mistlands before you are ready.
