The Yeti (designation Crucis, category AG/CA) is a megaspecimen-class hostile creature encountered in Voussior. It is a massive, simian-like predator whose head reaches approximately to a human player's waist. The creature is hunched and heavily muscled, with elongated conical claws on its fingers, jagged rows of teeth and two curved lower tusks of unequal length. Its legs terminate in stump-like structures rather than conventional feet; toes and footpads are overlaid with a dark bony growth. The Yeti’s eyes appear milky white but are functional for detecting enemies. The creature’s fur is highly flammable and it is extremely sensitive to heat.
In containment documentation the Yeti is designated IS-0134 (Crucis) and requires standard megaspecimen containment: extensive material hardening, structural reinforcement and impact bracing. Overhead clearance of at least 5 m must be provided because of the subject’s athletic proclivities. Habitat must be temperature-controlled and maintained below -2 °C; exposure to high temperatures or open flame is strictly prohibited due to the extreme inflammability of its fur. When confined and undisturbed, the Yeti’s reclusive instincts make it relatively docile.
In the field, the Yeti appears in two known locations in Voussior: either at the base of a sky tram support beam in the gorge or roaming inside a cave beyond the tram station near the lowermost end of Voussior. When outside on the tram beam it generally holds a fixed position and only moves to attack when detecting the player or other hostile entities; if no targets remain it will return to its initial post. When encountered inside the cave it patrols back and forth near the exit portal. The Yeti is hostile to all entities, including Order soldiers, player characters and player-deployed objects. Despite its size it is deceptively agile: it can leap long distances with high velocity to close gaps quickly. If briefly set on fire the creature panics, emitting screams and frantically attempting to extinguish itself.
Combat against the Yeti is challenging. It can outmaneuver targets and strike with explosive ferocity, and it shares some low-health animations with other large beasts (for example, clutching its chest and slowing), though it does not enter a down-but-not-out phase. The Yeti is especially vulnerable to incendiary damage; being ignited greatly amplifies its susceptibility. Fire-based weapons such as the Welding Spear or Thermite Molotov are specifically noted as effective tools for setting it ablaze.
Drops: guaranteed harvestable loot includes Yeti Fur (100%) and Yeti Skull (100%).
Encounter notes: approaching the cave entrance from a distance may produce sounds of combat (gunfire, explosions) from stationed Mountaineers; these soldiers, however, are not actually attacking the Yeti—the audio cues are atmospheric and the soldiers do not engage the beast unless provoked.
Tactical recommendations: exploit the Yeti’s extreme weakness to fire by using incendiary weapons or environmental flames at safe range; maintain mobility to avoid its long, fast leaps; use cover and ranged suppression to force it back toward positions where fire can be applied safely.
Behavior quirks: the Yeti uses low-pitched primate-like vocalizations and shares several attack patterns and animations with the Tarasque, though it lacks a revival or DBNO phase; stationary outside variants will return to their original position after attacking once, similar to certain invisible entities found in The Pool Room.
