Egg is a consumable orb that appears as a peg-affecting projectile in Peglin. Its primary in-run purpose is as a one-time heal and as an exchange item for a Castle event; giving the Egg to the Peglin Chef in the Castle trades it for The Cake, a relic that grants +50 maximum HP. When not turned in before a boss fight, the Egg serves as an emergency heal during combat.
When the Egg is launched, it behaves like a puck/peg projectile rather than a conventional card effect. If the Egg leaves the pegboard without striking a solid peg, it will return to the player and can be used again during the same battle. This return behavior can be exploited in combinations that change peg properties: slime-affected pegs, the Defresh Potion, and Slime Pegs make repeated uses particularly valuable, for example in fights against the Slime Boss. The first solid peg hit by the Egg will visually show a yellow slime effect; this visual has no gameplay penalty but still counts for interactions that care only that a peg was affected (it activates relics like A Good Slime and grants the associated +5 upgrade).
The Egg’s healing can be amplified by relics that convert or lock in damage effects. Relics such as Echo Chamber and Safety Net increase the effective healing received when the Egg returns or interacts with locked-in damage values. Because slime pegs are treated as non-solid for the Egg’s return logic, setups that convert many pegs to slime or otherwise prevent solid collisions let the Egg bounce back repeatedly and produce outsized healing in specific runs.
Practical notes and interactions:
Use the Egg primarily to obtain The Cake at the Castle for the permanent +50 HP boost; that trade is the highest-value use.
Keep the Egg in the deck if you anticipate the Castle event; if no event appears, retain it as an emergency single-target heal for bosses.
Aim the Egg so it misses solid pegs when you want it to return; combine with slime effects or Defresh Potion to force returns and multiple heals.
Relics that lock damage or echo hits increase the Egg’s effective healing, so prioritize those relics if you plan to rely on the Egg for sustain.
The Egg’s decorative yellow slime effect on the first solid peg is only visual but still triggers relics or upgrades tied to “slimed” or affected pegs.
There is an achievement for hitting the final boss’s eye with the Egg.
