Overview

Lord Reto is a highly dangerous Charred enemy that spawns naturally with 2 stars, so his displayed stats already include those multipliers. He uses a melee move set similar to a regular Charred Warrior, but with far more health and damage than even a 2-star Charred Warrior. His attacks are lethal enough that he can kill a player in a single hit even at the current maximum health and with the best available armor, including a food setup of Piquant Pie, Mashed Meat, and Fiery Svinstew for 300 health.

His offense is centered on close-range sword attacks with very short engagement distance, and he can chain several different strikes with distinct tells and timings. He becomes especially dangerous because some attacks reuse the same windup as another move, forcing players to react to the actual follow-through rather than the initial animation. Rolling is not always a safe answer, since his feints can catch players mid-roll unless they fully move out of range.

  • Swing: a vertical sword slash that hits in a 3-meter, 115-degree arc in front of him for 480 Slash damage. Usable every 3 seconds when a player is within 1.6 meters.
  • Thrust: a forward stab that reaches 3 meters in a slightly arcing 10-degree line for 460 Pierce damage. Usable every 3 seconds when a player is within 1.6 meters.
  • Feint: starts with the same windup as Swing, then pauses before changing stance into a different slash that hits in a 3-meter, 77.3-degree vertical arc for 500 Slash damage. Usable every 8 seconds when a player is within 1.6 meters.
  • Thrust feint: starts with the same windup as Thrust, then pauses before following with an upward swing from his current stance for 420 Pierce damage. This attack creates a 3-meter vertical arc spanning 60 degrees and is usable every 3 seconds when a player is within 1.6 meters.

Because Lord Reto’s feints are visually close to their matching normal attacks, successful defense depends on reading the timing after the windup. His feint variants are especially punishing for players who rely on rolling instead of spacing, so maintaining distance and leaving his attack range entirely is safer than trying to evade late.
