Ghost

Overview
Ghosts are aggressive undead creatures that appear as pale, floating apparitions in burial chambers. They are tougher than skeletons, but they are not a major threat on their own. Their presence is most noticeable in cramped dungeon corridors, where their hovering body can make them awkward to fight and easy to get trapped behind terrain.

- Ghosts are slightly sturdier than skeletons, so they take a bit more effort to bring down.
- Their attack has no clear wind-up animation, making audio cues especially important.
- Parrying works against them, despite the lack of a visible telegraph.
- Like Leviathans, they do not respawn, so when raids are disabled they are a finite creature.
- They are often encountered in narrow spaces, where they can become stuck in passages and easier to attack from safety.
Ghosts are part of Valheim’s hostile undead population and fit the game’s recurring theme of haunted burial sites and ancient dead. Their appearance is more spectral than skeletal, and they are generally treated as a dungeon hazard rather than a major encounter. When found in groups or in tight rooms, they can still be dangerous, but their predictable melee range and audible attack cue give players reliable ways to deal with them.
