Bug Meat

Bug Meat is a Monster Loot item obtained from insects and other bug-type monsters. It drops from any type of insect, including Armored Bugs and Dangerous Armored Bugs, and those enemies can drop it even when the player has forged a weapon with the Bug Killer enchantment. It is one of the more common combat drops, but it also has several niche uses outside battle.

Bug Meat can also be produced through fish ponds. Dorado, Lingcod, and Pike Fish Ponds may produce 20 Bug Meat once the pond population reaches 9. In addition, Vincent sells Bug Meat at the Desert Festival in exchange for a Calico Egg.

Besides being a combat drop, Bug Meat is useful for quests and tailoring. It is requested in several Fish Pond quests, and Willy can request 100 Bug Meat for the Special Order “Juicy Bugs Wanted!”, which also rewards the Quality Bobber recipe. The Raccoon at the Giant Stump may also request Bug Meat, asking for 20 as part of his fifth request and any request from the sixth onward.

In tailoring, Bug Meat can be placed in the sewing machine spool with Cloth in the feed to create a clothing item, and it also acts as a dark pink dye when used with a dyeable clothing item. It can be placed in the purple dye pot at Emily and Haley’s house for dyeing as well.
