Void Salmon

Void Salmon is a fish that can be caught in the Witch’s Swamp during all seasons. It is one of the swamp’s notable fish catches and can also be stocked in a Fish Pond for steady production.

Like other fish pond species, Void Salmon start with a capacity of 1 fish, and the pond can be expanded to 10 by completing four population quests. As the population grows, the pond’s water turns purple at 3 fish. The pond’s main output is purple Void Salmon Roe, and at higher populations it can begin producing more valuable items as well.

The pond quests are as follows:

• 1 to 3 fish: 5 Void Essence, granting 40 Fishing XP
• 3 to 5 fish: 10 Bat Wings, granting 40 Fishing XP
• 5 to 7 fish: 1 Diamond or 1 Void Egg, granting 40 Fishing XP
• 7 to 10 fish: 1 Iridium Ore, granting 40 Fishing XP

Its daily pond output changes with population. From 1 to 7 fish, the pond produces Void Salmon Roe every day. At 8 fish, the pond still produces Roe most of the time, but has a chance to produce Void Essence instead. At 9 to 10 fish, the output pool expands further and can include more Roe, Void Essence, Void Egg, and empty days. Specifically, Void Essence becomes available at 8 or more fish, while Void Egg appears only at 9 or 10 fish.

Void Salmon also has several other uses outside the pond. One gold- or iridium-quality Void Salmon may be used in a bundle. It can be used in the Sewing Machine to create a clothing item, and it can also serve as a purple dye ingredient at the dye pots in Emily’s and Haley’s house at 2 Willow Lane.

Because the fish is available year-round in the Witch’s Swamp, it is straightforward to obtain once that area is unlocked. Its pond is especially useful if you want a renewable source of Void Roe, Void Essence, and the occasional Void Egg or Void Salmon Roe-related value from a single stocked fish species.
