Penny

Penny is a villager who lives with her mother, Pam, in the trailer south of town. She is quiet, bookish, and often spends her time reading, cleaning, or teaching Jas and Vincent. She is friends with Maru and Sam, and she will dance with Sam at the Flower Dance if neither of them is dancing with the player.

Most weekdays, Penny can be found around town or at the museum/library tutoring the children. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday she takes Jas and Vincent to the museum, then walks them home afterward; on Saturday she takes them to the town playground. When it rains, she usually stays inside her trailer or goes to the museum to look at the bookshelves. After the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, she may spend a day there at random, but she does not visit the Resort on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, festival days, or her clinic checkup day. If married, she moves into the farmhouse, adds her own room to the right of the bedroom, and creates a small garden behind the farmhouse where she sometimes goes to read. She continues to work at the museum on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and her marriage schedule overrides weather, so she still walks the children home even in the rain.

Penny loves all universal loves except Rabbit's Foot, and she also loves books, Stardrop Tea, Diamond, Emerald, Melon, Poppy, Poppyseed Muffin, Red Plate, Roots Platter, Sandfish, and Tom Kha Soup. She likes all universal likes except Algae Soup, Beer, Mead, Pale Ale, Pale Broth, Piña Colada, and Wine, along with all artifacts, all milk, Dandelion, and Leek. She is neutral toward most other universal neutrals, including all eggs except Void Egg and most fruit except a few specific exceptions. She dislikes the usual universal dislikes, including Algae Soup, Duck Feather, Pale Broth, Purple Mushroom, Quartz, Red Mushroom, Salmonberry, and Wool. She hates the universal hates, including Beer, Grape, Holly, Hops, Mead, Pale Ale, Piña Colada, Rabbit's Foot, and Wine.

At the movies, Penny loves any movie if Pam is also present, as well as The Brave Little Sapling. She likes Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch, The Zuzu City Express, and Wumbus. She dislikes It Howls in the Rain and Mysterium. For concessions, she loves Cotton Candy and Stardrop Sorbet, dislikes Black Licorice, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, and Sour Slimes, and likes everything else.

Penny may randomly request an item on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre's General Store, rewarding the player with three times the item's base value and 150 friendship points. Her 8-heart and 10-heart event dialogue can have especially large friendship consequences, and her 14-heart event can only happen once. If her 10-heart event is seen before her other heart events, the bachelorette group 10-heart event may sometimes fail to trigger properly.
